Pretty sure a bunch of us grew up considering it one of the greens. But one fine day, my grade-school daughter corrected me -- it is apparently a FRUIT. Botany-wise, strictly speaking, it is a fruit.
A botanical fruit would have at least one seed and grow from the flower of the plant. With this definition in mind, tomatoes are classified as fruit because they contain seeds and grow from the flower of the tomato plant.
So, is it a fruit? Is it a vegetable? We will not delve into that, no, no. However way its called, whatever its "horti-culture", 1 thing's certain, it is an incredible edible! π¦Έ♀️
